# 1: Top Ranked Stories

It's US elections and cricket in the number one most read spot around the world - though there are a few outliers. Readers of the Telegraph skipped news on the US elections and went straight to the truly gory. Sex got the attention in Canada and South Africa's City Press got our vote for most poetic headline.

Each morning we attempt to understand what drives people's curiosity and attention. This segment uses the simple metric of 'most viewed articles' - a feature on the home-pages of many newspapers. We examine newspapers from across the English speaking world.
